About Me
Welcome to my website, my name is Pamela and I’m the founder of CalmReLeaf and Pawsome Pantry.
My inspiration and passion behind the idea came to me at the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic after losing my much-loved Springer Spaniel, Scamp.
I was aware of the benefits of CBD for my own chronic conditions and had also heard first-hand how it had helped family and friends.
Prior to the Covid onset I had been in regular attendance with my Vet in regards to Scamp’s ongoing illness and I was desperate to ensure his last few months were as comfortable and pain free as possible. I carried out endless research and was amazed to find how beneficial it can be for Dogs.Â
I am convinced from first-hand experience that CBD oil extended my Dog Scamps life by almost 2 years. He had a great appetite but wasn’t a fan of the CBD taste so I had to disguise it in a treat. I searched far and wide for homemade CBD treats but could not find any. This is where the idea for CBD homemade treats for Dogs was borne. I wanted to bake homemade CBD treats, with a special emphasis on health and nutrition, using ingredients we all know, love and currently eat.
We now have 2 little Shih Tzu rescues, Molly and Roxy, who are very different but adorable, they have been my willing testers throughout the process. It has been a journey to ensure the treats meet their taste bud requirements but I’ve finally cracked it. They take a CBD treat every day, not because they’re in pain but because they are highly strung little girls and it helps to keep them calm.
Just as I was getting prepared to launch my Dog business, one of my brothers encouraged me to add homemade treats for humans incorporating CBD, he is always partial to a wee traybake or cheesecake and also suffers chronic pain. Given his love of my homemade bakes I decided to extend my business to the Human market too.
I’m excited to combine my love of baking and helping others into a service that can benefits Pets and Humans alike. I hope you enjoy it as much as my testers have.
